Did You Reiki Today?
Our granddaughter, Andria, is now 11 years of age. Hard to believe that just a few moments ago she was a tiny seven pounds you could hold in one hand. As an infant and in early childhood, she would sometimes get sinus or throat irritations with resulting headaches. When Andria began talking, she expressed how her headache felt by saying “my head is thumping”. And, if a headache occurred during one of our cherished visits she would call out with her quiet, sweet voice, “Nana, put your hands on me, my head is thumping.” Of course, she was asking for me to give her Reiki. She had learned from infancy that when Nana touched her, everything was better. There were even times when she, without saying a word, would just come, sit next to me, pick up my hands and put them on her head, neck or arm, etc. She instinctively knew that the warm feeling coming through my hands was not ‘me’, but came from a source she could not see. And, it always made her feel better very quickly.
Children just naturally understand pure Love and that Life is more than we see and not to be controlled; so, just as naturally, they so easily and gladly use the Divine energy that moves through them to assist others. Of course, early on I began sharing with Andria how to use her own heart as a channel for healing herself and others. She loves doing this and because of her compassion for all life, one of her greatest joys is to help the helpless whether they be people, animal or plant and that includes …….bugs, frogs, puppies, birds, flowers….you name it, she will assist by ‘touching’. The results are that her whole face lights up as she watches her ‘patient’ respond so positively, and many times miraculously. And, wow! — There is no expressing how it feels when she puts those tiny hands on my own shoulders and I am instantly relieved of pain. The power that flows through those hands is absolutely huge. I believe it is because she knows no fear and has no doubts. She just knows It Is Life and as such, It gives Life to anything or anyone who receives It.
Yes, by the time she was 8, I had taught Andria the basics of Reiki and I am so delighted to know that for her lifetime she can use the skills of healing through Reiki to bring greater joy and living to others, including the animal and plant life that fills our world with completeness. Andria also knows that Reiki can be used personally each day for balancing our body’s energy systems and assisting to keep clear channels for Divine guidance as we move through our daily life.
So, it is that when we have one of our wonderful phone visits, she usually has lots to tell me about her day and all its activities and without adieu, will share some experience where she helped another, be it human, animal or plant life, and you know I’m lovin’ it! And, sometimes during the conversation, she will ask “Nana, did you Reiki today?”

Thought For The New Year
As the clock was ticking last evening moving moment to moment bringing my thoughts and memory into the time and year we designate as 2012, I found it interesting to recall my thoughts of prior moments when I had been considering what wondrous, exciting and unfolding events would be occurring in life in the moments, hours, days, weeks and months to come.
Not being one to live ‘ahead’, but having learned to exprience this very instant, I found the realization of slipping quietly into another dimension of memory (or time as we equate it) especially this time in eternity, very exhilarating. How about you? Are you looking forward to the movement of time and memory in your life as the clock ticks? I truly hope to meet you along the ‘road’ as we locate the cache of Wonder that awaits around every bend of the Light, every quark and infinite unknown part of All that Is. In recognizing the upcoming time/memories, I jotted down a few lines from my heart that you may also appreciate:
Hope Comes Calling
In the memory we consider as time, another year has turned
and we find ourselves facing Hope in all Her glory,
bidding us come forward to know and seek the Wonder
that awaits within and then shows us Herself in all that our senses can receive.
Blessed Hope, You bring the Peace that all has already been completed;
there is a way we have not yet known but waits for us
and is even now seeking us to know It.
Yes, no need to overcome, we just know all is already accomplished
and we may now rest
in allowing the gentleness of Love to show us Its amazing Grace.
So, rest my friend, in the knowing that all you seek, need and desire
in the depths of your fertile heart is even now
singing with the Symphony of the Universe, “I Am”.

And so, as our quest compels us forward let us remember that while we may not ‘see’ the way, we ‘know’ the way; it is that knowing within each of us that guides and gives knowledge of the step by step journey. It is that Light that cannot be extinguished : It is the Light of all. YOU are a powerful and exceptional soul, walking your path. You already contain the courage, wisdom and knowledge needed to accomplish your exciting purpose.
Let’s walk the 2012 path together ~ we are sure to reach our goals as we realize we are ONE and that our dreams, desires, intentions and purpose cannot fail as we recognize there is no duality.
